Carrossa Hotel & Spa Review
Our arrival at Carrossa set the scene for what can only be described as a thoroughly blissful stay at this relatively new hotel on the island. Located in the north east of Mallorca, close to Arta, it’s a perfect base for exploring this charming area of the island with numerous golf courses nearby.
With a glass of cava in hand, check in is easy and very quickly the luggage has disappeared and the car has been parked. Transported to our room by buggy it is already clear that this is going to be right up my street.
Our standard room is perfectly spacious, decorated in neutral colours with a small terrace and all the usual luxury amenities. This is located in the old Manor House, making it easy to access all the resort has to offer. Other suites are a slightly longer walk from the main facilities. A comfortable bed and superb, quiet air conditioning make for a very comfortable sleep. The shower must be one of the most powerful I have ever experienced and toiletries by Pure Herbs are lovely. A litre of water is replaced everyday. Tea/coffee making facilities and a minibar are at your disposal and fresh milk arrived quickly when I asked for it. A nightly turn down service is available.
Very quickly we settled into a daily routine of relaxing by the infinity pool with views for miles only interrupted by breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food at this resort is delicious and there are two restaurants to choose from. Carrossa serves breakfast and a tasting menu in the evening while the more casual restaurant, Badia serves lunch and dinner. Breakfast is a relaxed buffet style with a good selection of cold plates as well as hot options to order. I prefer more relaxed dining on holiday so chose to eat at Bistro Badia. With beautiful views and good service, we enjoyed a varied menu from Caesar salad to duck breast. The summer lounge bar opens on summer evenings serving a good range of cocktails.
The pool area also boasts fabulous views and there was never a shortage of sun beds (complete with thick pads!) with fresh towels provided every day. The only gripe I had was the pool service which didn’t seem to work very smoothly from the call button provided. The spa area is impressive with an indoor pool, saunas, steam rooms and a number of treatment rooms. Unfortunately I didn’t get to experience a spa treatment this time but it definitely looks worth a trip.
The enthusiastic staff really added to the enjoyment of this property and although this is a lovely part of Mallorca, Arta, Canyamel and Colonia de Sant Pere are all within an easy drive, it was really hard to leave the magic bubble of this delightful resort.
With prices from 286 euros per night B&B in the middle of August I really should be keeping this place to myself. Carrossa, you were a dream and I very much hope to return in the not so distant future.
Most def not a millennial. Too old to drink s*** wine. Penchant for luxury travel. Sharing my fav things in life; past, present and future.
