Just back from... Yorebridge House
I have literally just unpacked my bag from a short but sweet stay at Yorebridge House. A boutique hotel located in the village of Bainbridge, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Yorebridge House was brought to life by David and Charlotte who renovated the old building from floor to ceiling back in 2006.

With contemporary interiors alongside original features, this is a Yorkshire gem although perhaps a little tired in places. Following a quick and easy check in, it was off to the Greenwich Loft Suite. Styled on a New York loft space this room really does have the wow factor, I can honestly say I have never stayed in a loft quite like this in New York! This is a spacious suite with a bedroom under the eaves, a stunning bathroom with not one but two freestanding baths and a living room with TV and comfortable sofa all with a view of the Dales. Homemade biscuits and tea/coffee facilities are always a welcome addition and just a quick phone call brought fresh milk. Bathroom amenities are by TempleSpa and you can avail of the robes after relaxing in the bath. If you prefer a shower, choose another room. I also loved the scent from the diffuser, as always it’s the little things that make a difference. This is a room made for relaxing and escaping from everyday life and that’s exactly what we did.
A welcome glass of fizz waited for us in the bar area before Sunday lunch in the restaurant. A lovely bright room with a relaxed atmosphere, the beef was delicious and both starter and desserts equally enjoyable. Be warned, the horseradish sauce has a real kick as my husband can attest to! Accompanied by a delightful Malbec I couldn’t think of a nicer way of spending a Sunday afternoon. Also really lovely to see that the food is sourced from local suppliers and the hotel is obviously proud of its Yorkshire heritage. Breakfast did not disappoint with a small selection of cold and hot options, I can heartily recommend the Yorebridge Breakfast.
All too quickly it was time to check out but before we left the staff recommended a good circular walk from the hotel so we didn’t even need to move the car. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
