Congratulations Passalacqua
Passalacqua has been named No.1 in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023. Announced at last night’s inaugural awards ceremony this is a remarkable achievement for a property which only opened its doors last year.
Standing above the village of Moltrasio, on the shore of Lake Como, Passalacqua is an extraordinary private villa transformed into an incredible 24-suite hotel, a passion project for one of Italy’s most well-known hotelier families – Paolo, Antonella and Valentina De Santis. Sister property to the lake’s Grand Hotel Tremezzo – one of the world’s most iconic hotels – it offers total privacy and magnificence.
Passalacqua is one unique property that shelters within its ancient walls three equally unique places to stay: the Villa, the Palazz, the Casa al Lago. All three buildings have their own special personality and every suite is different. The property features a romantic rose garden, a vegetable garden and an antique orchard, stunning swimming pool and lakeside tennis court plus a private dock on the lake with hotel vintage boats to sail the lake waters in style.
Passalacqua has adopted a unique approach to dining, one that allows guests to embrace the country’s vibrant gastronomic culture just as they would if they were staying in the house of an Italian friend. Nothing is too much trouble making Passalacqua the best place to indulge in that quintessentially Italian practice of sweet idleness, dolce far niente at its very best.
Passalacqua is a place of wonder created from the heart, by a family that has breathed life into a new Lake Como icon that honours the past but is relevant for the centuries ahead.
